What You Need to Know About Microbubble Infusion

Traditional hydrotherapy jets - while fantastic for deep muscle massage -aren't always what your skin needs at the end of a long day. FROM INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH TO LUXURY HYDROTHERAPY
Microbubble technology was first developed in Japan in the 1990s for industrial and environmental water treatment research. Scientists were looking for ways to purify water naturally, leveraging the unique ability of microscopic bubbles to bind to impurities.
By the 2000s, researchers realized these same mechanisms offered remarkable benefits for human skin. Commercial spas and bathing facilities across Japan quickly adopted the technology. Having tested these systems extensively in our own shop, we can tell you that seeing a crystal-clear tub transform into a dense, milky-white bath in just two minutes never loses its magic.
THE SCIENCE: HOW MICROBUBBLES ARE PRODUCED
Unlike standard air jets that push large air bubbles through nozzles, microbubble systems rely on fluid mechanics and oxygen saturation:
1. Intake & Air Mixing: A specialized pump draws bathwater out of the tub while pulling ambient air through a venturi intake valve.
2. Pressurization: The water and air mixture is pressurized inside an internal chamber.
3. Dissolution: Under high pressure, the air dissolves completely into the water molecules, super- saturating the bath with roughly 50% more dissolved oxygen than regular tap water.
4. The Silk-Water Release: As the pressurized water flows back into the tub, the sudden
pressure release shatters the air into billions of microscopic bubbles.
Because these microbubbles are so tiny, they don't immediately rush to the top and pop like standard bubbles. They remain suspended in the water column, creating that signature silky, white ion cloud.
